Charles is one of the UK’s leading auctioneers and is known for his enthusiastic and entertaining appearances on shows such as BBC’s Bargain Hunt, Antiques Road Trip and Flog It!
Charles became the youngest expert on Bargain Hunt when he joined the show in 2002 at the tender age of 25. His quirky personality, entertaining style and impressive knowledge have contributed to him becoming one of the best loved antiques experts on TV.
Charles began his career at Christies in London and established his own auction house, Hansons, in 2005. Along with sales of items from historic houses, including Kedleston Hall, Bishton Hall and Sudbury Hall, Hansons have been privileged to see a wide range of exciting objects go ‘under the hammer’, including a rare and fine Chinese Qianlong vase selling for a wonderful £650,000.
